Each year, the current Regatta Committee elects a new chairman for the following year’s regatta. The Chairman then begins to form the Regatta Committee for the next year by soliciting volunteers from the cruising community to act as chairmen of the various individual events. Some positions are filled immediately by those who know they plan to return the following year, and some positions are not filled until the following year when new cruisers flock to George Town. Those positions that are filled from past event chairmen offer needed continuity to the regatta planning process.
