Certainly many of you remember going to the beach during the summer and building sandcastles and the like in the sand. Well, we have a competitive event in the regatta where you can be that little kid again. The Sand Sculpture event has both a youth and an adult competition, but in this event, the adults are really just ‘big kids’ once again!

Each team is allotted an area about twelve feet square and has about two to three hours to erect their scullpture. Only natural items can be included with the sand, and only then if they are dead (and were when collected!). The creations are something to behold and while many are pictured below, you really have to come to George Town and witness these beauties up close and personal.
